The result is the kind of group show the Art Center does well: dozens of working local artists, a wide mix of mediums, and an organizing color that keeps a coherent thread running through the room.
The Art Center is in the unmistakable building at 835 Main Street, the one with the giant Rock mural across the side. The Morro Bay Art Association has been programming exhibits and supporting working artists from this address since 1951, making it one of the longest-running volunteer art organizations in the state. Worth knowing on the way in.
Open daily noon to four, free admission. The shop in the front room rotates members’ jewelry, ceramics, cards, and small works that don’t always make it into the main exhibits, and is worth a slow look on the way out.
If you’ve been meaning to stop in, the final week is the moment. The next exhibit, Call of the Wild, opens June 25.
