Every Friday afternoon at the Morro Bay Museum of Natural History, kids ages 7 to 12 earn a California State Park Junior Ranger badge through a fun craft or activity led by museum interpreters. Thirty minutes, hands-on, free.
Can’t make Friday? The museum also offers a self-paced Junior Ranger booklet at the front desk anytime during museum hours. Work through the activities (museum, estuary, wildlife, geology, Chumash and Salinan cultural history), and bring it back to earn the badge.
The museum sits on the hill above the bay at 20 State Park Road with some of the best estuary views in town. Adult admission $3; kids 17 and under free. Meet on the ramp in front of the museum at 2 PM. See what else is on around Morro Bay on the event calendar.
