The White Caps return to the T-Pier for a second Music by the Rock morning
On the Morro Bay waterfront. The Morro Bay White Caps bring their Music by the Rock series back to the South T-Pier on Saturday, August 29 at 11 AM, another free open-air concert from the town’s own community band on its home stage. The formula does not need changing: volunteer musicians, crowd-pleasing concert band favorites, and Morro Rock standing over the whole scene while the harbor goes about its Saturday.
The late-August date lands at the front edge of the coast’s warmest stretch, when the mornings clear early and the waterfront is at its best, so this one is a good bet for the full blue-sky version of the T-Pier concert experience. Community band concerts have a particular charm that polished stages cannot fake: neighbors playing for neighbors, kids dancing at the front, and a set list built to send everyone off humming.
The concert is free with no tickets or reservations, and a folding chair or a spot on the rail is all the setup required. It pairs naturally with the rest of a waterfront Saturday, and the commercial fleet tied up alongside the pier is its own show between numbers. Musicians curious about joining the band can reach the White Caps at mbwhitecaps@gmail.com or follow them on Facebook for performance reminders.
