Avocado & Margarita Street Festival

September 12 @ 10:00 am - 6:00 pm PDT
$15

The Avocado and Margarita Street Festival returns to the Embarcadero waterfront

On the Morro Bay Embarcadero. The Avocado and Margarita Street Festival is back on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 10 AM to 6 PM, and for the first time since 2019 it returns to its original home in the heart of the waterfront district. The Morro Bay Chamber of Commerce runs the festival as the Central Coast’s biggest end-of-summer street party, taking over the Embarcadero between Harbor and Pacific Streets for a full day of food, drink, live music, and California-grown avocados worked into just about everything.

The two things in the name carry the day. California avocados turn up across every food vendor, from tacos and burgers to sweets and the kind of wild one-off creations the festival is known for. The margaritas pour all afternoon, including the festival’s signature Avocado Margaritas, an actual avocado-based cocktail that sounds improbable and has built a loyal following across past years. Live music runs all day on the waterfront stage, with the Embarcadero and the Rock as the backdrop.

This is a genuine street festival, not a fenced fairground. Re-entry is allowed all day, so you can wander off to the rest of the Embarcadero, take a harbor walk, and come back. Families are well covered: the Grom Zone gives kids their own area with games and activities, and children 10 and under get in free. The borrowed surf slang fits a town where the working harbor and the surf breaks share the same water.

A few practical notes worth knowing in advance. There is no parking at the festival itself, so the move is to park elsewhere in town and walk, or ride the Morro Bay Trolley, which drops off right at the event for a dollar. Bring a hat, sunblock, and an empty reusable water bottle to refill. Service dogs are welcome; other animals are not. Tickets are $15, with food and drink sold separately inside. GET TICKETS HERE

It’s one of the marquee dates on the Morro Bay calendar and a reliable end-of-summer sellout, so locals and visitors alike tend to grab tickets early. For more Morro Bay festivals and waterfront events as the season turns, browse the event calendar.
