The Dirt brings 80s Sunset Strip glam rock to The Siren
The Dirt runs the biggest Sunset Strip hair-metal hits at The Siren on Friday night, a glam-rock celebration with the leather, the makeup, the long hair, and the catalog all delivered the way the genre demands. The set covers the #1 hits of the era in one big swing through Hollywood’s loudest decade.
Sunset Strip glam rock is a strange specific corner of music history to tribute, and the bands that do it well lean into the visual presentation as hard as the playing. Motley Crue, Poison, Ratt, Skid Row, Guns N’ Roses, the whole leather-and-spandex parade. The Dirt has built its show around that era specifically, and the Friday-night small-room context lets the theatrics actually work the way they’re supposed to.
Fridays at The Siren tend to run hot anyway, and the tribute crowd brings their own energy. The venue at 900 Main is a small Main Street room with a stage close enough to the floor that the band and the crowd basically become one act by the end of the first song. The Siren runs full dinner service and bar through the night, with doors typically open well before the headline set.
Tickets are $15 to $18 in advance through tixr.com. Table reservations run $100 through monte@thesirenmorrobay.com for groups that want guaranteed seating. Parking is on Main Street and the back blocks, and the rest of downtown Morro Bay is a short walk for pre-show or post-show stops.
