In Los Osos, across the back bay. Santa Cruz Family Band headline the free Barefoot Concert on the Green at Sea Pines on Saturday, August 1, playing the 3 to 6 PM main-act slot on the lawn. The venue calls them one of the most requested bands on its stage, running R&B, soul, rock, and funk across six decades of material, a crowd-pleasing songbook built for a lawn full of dancers.

A most-requested billing is earned, not given, and this band earns it the old way: familiar songs, deep grooves, and a set list that moves from Motown to modern without losing the thread. The lawn fills early on their dates, and the dancing starts before the first chorus ends.

Sea Pines is the nine-hole golf resort on the Los Osos back bay whose free weekend music series has become one of the area’s reliable outdoor stages, lawn seating, a full menu and bar, and the estuary air doing the ambiance work. Bring a low chair or a blanket for the Green. No cover, all ages on the lawn, and the kitchen and bar run through the set.
