The New York reggae collective plays its most famous record live and in full: Dub Side of the Moon, the 2003 track-for-track dub reggae reworking of Pink Floyd’s masterpiece that launched a two-decade run of tribute albums. On a Sunday, in a room this size, it’s the whole album at close range, and the timing carries a local wink: The Meditations, who played this same stage in September, sang Eclipse on the original recording. Doors at 6:00, music at 7:00, and the venue asks for no early birds.
Easy Star All-Stars have spent nearly twenty years as one of the top international reggae acts going, touring more than thirty countries on six continents and pulling reggae, classic rock, dub, and indie fans into one room. After Dub Side came Radiodread (Radiohead’s OK Computer), Easy Star’s Lonely Hearts Dub Band (Sgt. Pepper), Thrillah, and in 2023 a full reggae reimagining of David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust with guests including Macy Gray, Maxi Priest, Steel Pulse, Fishbone, Rush’s Alex Lifeson, and Living Colour’s Vernon Reid. The gimmick transcends itself because the band is that good.
