Morro Bay’s community theater company goes for the throat with Gordon Greenberg and Steve Rosen’s Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors, a 90-minute, laugh-out-loud reimagining of Bram Stoker’s Gothic that the company pitches as Monty Python humor with the rock and roll swagger of Rocky Horror, full of quick wordplay and anything-goes pop culture references. Nicolette Tempesta directs, with Frank Maciel as the Count and a cast of eight. It runs three weekends in Erickson Hall, nine performances in all, and the Saturday, October 31 show puts Dracula on stage on Halloween night itself. Seating is unreserved and tickets are limited, so buy early and arrive early.
