Songwriter duo Burgundy and Blue play an Embarcadero evening at The Savory Palette
On the Morro Bay Embarcadero. Burgundy and Blue, the duo project of singer-songwriters Cassi Nicholls and Patrick Joseph, play The Savory Palette on Saturday, July 25 from 6 to 8 PM. There is no cover, with donations to the musicians appreciated, and the venue is billing it as a dinner-and-a-show evening on the waterfront, the kind of night where the music and the meal share equal billing.
The pairing has real history behind it. Nicholls is an indie singer-songwriter with Central Coast ties who writes straight from lived experience, and Joseph, a songwriter with his own catalog, produced her Handsome Devil EP, so the two arrive as longtime collaborators rather than a thrown-together bill. An evening set of two songwriters trading songs rewards a room that actually listens, and a waterfront wine-and-dinner spot at sunset is exactly that room.
The Savory Palette sits at 601 Embarcadero in the heart of the waterfront, and a 6 PM start catches the best of the evening: the harbor settling down, the light going gold on the Rock, and dinner service running through both sets. Arriving early for a table is the move, since the room is intimate and the duo has been telling followers to come grab a seat ahead of time.
No cover at the door, donations appreciated, and a full evening on the Embarcadero around it. For more live music and waterfront evenings around the bay, see what is on the event calendar.
