Morro Bay State Park wraps the back of the bay with a marina, an 18-hole golf course, the Black Hill trail, a blue heron rookery, and the Museum of Natural History. It is one of the central outdoor venues in the coverage area, equally a destination for paddlers, golfers, hikers, and birders, and the rookery is a marquee wildlife draw in nesting season. The park is the hub for much of the area’s docent-led nature programming.
