King Tide Stop and Scope at the Marina Boardwalk

November 25 @ 8:30 am - 11:00 am PST

Morro Coast Audubon sets up spotting scopes at the Marina Boardwalk for the year’s first King Tide on Wednesday, November 25, from 8:30 to 11 AM.

The tide peaks at 6.9 feet at 9:13 AM, pushing winter shorebirds and migrating species in close to the boardwalk, and chapter leaders will be stationed along the rail and the back platform to help with identification. This is a drop-in, not a field trip: come for ten minutes or the whole morning, kids and grandkids welcome, no registration needed. For locals it is a built-in break from Thanksgiving prep; for holiday visitors it is the estuary at its most watchable.

Where: Marina Boardwalk, Morro Bay State Park Marina, 10 State Park Road, Morro Bay
When: Wednesday, November 25, 2026, 8:30 to 11:00 AM; tide peaks 9:13 AM
Who: Morro Coast Audubon Society leaders with spotting scopes
Good to know: Drop in anytime; no registration.
