Free Sunday music on the oceanfront patio at Schooners in Cayucos

In Cayucos, up the coast. Schooners runs its free Beachside Live summer concert series on the oceanfront patio above Cayucos Beach every Sunday evening, a few steps from the pier, and this week’s set lands on July 19. It is exactly the setting the name promises: live music with the sand and the water right there, the pier in view, and a full bar and menu on hand. No cover, all ages welcome on the patio.

The 2026 series rotates a handful of house bands through the summer, Strange Cake, 40# Feather, and Curtis and Friends among them, with touring guests dropping in on some weeks. The lineup for this particular Sunday had not been posted at the time of writing, but the series itself is a reliable, easygoing way to close out a weekend on the North Coast, the kind of low-key beachfront show that Cayucos does better than almost anywhere.

Cayucos sits about ten minutes up Highway 1 from Morro Bay, an easy drive for a Sunday-evening set by the water. Come early to claim a spot on the patio, since the oceanfront tables are the ones everyone wants once the music starts.
