On Main Street in Morro Bay. The Darbies play a free rock and roll show at The Siren on Friday, August 28 at 7:30 PM, capping the month with a no-cover night downtown. The set runs straight-ahead guitar rock built for a Friday crowd, the kind of unfussy, turn-it-up show that fills the Siren’s Main Street room without anyone needing to know the catalog first.
A free Friday show is one of the better deals in town. The Siren is the room that carries most of Morro Bay’s live music, small and loud and close to the stage, and a no-cover night lowers the bar to just showing up. The Darbies work the rock and roll end of the spectrum, so this is a night for dancing and drinking rather than careful listening, and the room tends to respond in kind.
Doors and dinner open before the show, with the Siren kitchen and full bar running through the set. The show is 21 and over per the venue’s usual evening policy, and seating is first come, first served, so arriving early is the move if you want a stool rather than standing room. No cover at the door.
