🍿 The Social Reckoning at the Bay Theatre (matinee showing)
October 30 @ 4:15 pm - 6:00 pm PDT
$10
The Social Reckoning, Aaron Sorkin’s Facebook whistleblower drama, runs afternoon showings at the Bay Theatre.
Aaron Sorkin writes and directs a companion piece to The Social Network: the true story of Frances Haugen (Mikey Madison), a young Facebook engineer who enlists Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz (Jeremy Allen White) to blow the whistle on the platform’s most guarded secrets. Jeremy Strong and Bill Burr round out a cast built for Sorkin dialogue, in a timely account of social media’s great and terrible power. Rated R, 1 hour 42 minutes, a six-day run over Halloween weekend. Opening Saturday is Halloween, when the theatre also runs The Witches at 1:00 PM as a Weekend Special, so the afternoon is spoken for either way.
Where: Bay Theatre, 464 Morro Bay Blvd, Morro Bay
When: Friday, October 30 through Wednesday, November 4; Friday, Saturday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 4:15 PM; Sunday, November 1 at 1:15 and 4:00 PM; dark Monday, November 2 and Thursday, November 5
Cost: $10
A whistleblower before dinner sharpens the conversation after; the rest of the weekend’s talking points are on the Morro Bay events calendar.
