Tony, the young Anthony Bourdain story, runs afternoon showings at the Bay Theatre in downtown Morro Bay.

Matt Johnson directs Dominic Sessa (The Holdovers) as a 19-year-old Anthony Bourdain thrown into the chaos of a Provincetown restaurant kitchen for the summer that shaped everything after: before the books, before the television years, the origin of the cook who taught a generation how to eat and pay attention. The theatre’s own billing says it best: nobody did it like him. Rated R, 1 hour 41 minutes. A kitchen coming-of-age story lands a little differently in a town where the fish comes off the boats a few blocks from the theater, and the matinee walks you out into a waterfront full of working kitchens just starting service.
