SUMMARY:🎶 Live Music Saturdays at High Tide Deli
DESCRIPTION:Free Saturday afternoons on the High Tide Deli patio\nHigh Tide Deli runs free live music on the patio every Saturday from noon to 2 PM\, the kind of low-key weekly slot that turns a sandwich-shop lunch into something you actually plan around. The lineup rotates\, the show is short and casual\, and the menu does the rest. No cover\, no reservations needed\, no big production. Just music and lunch on the patio at 500 Morro Bay Boulevard. \nHigh Tide is a Morro Bay favorite that sits at the downtown end of the Boulevard\, an indoor/outdoor cafe known for build-your-own sandwiches\, acai bowls\, smoothies\, and a serious coffee menu. The Turkey Bliss is a regular contender\, the avocado toast has a following\, and the build-your-own runs deep with options like Dutch Crunch rolls\, pesto mayo\, and the standard Morro Bay add-ons (bacon\, avocado\, jalapeno cheddar bread). The retail section of the cafe stocks local goods\, which makes the post-lunch browse part of the experience. \nThe patio is dog-friendly and family-friendly\, with shade across the seating area on most afternoons and the kind of casual stretch that lets the music play without becoming the whole event. The Saturday slot draws regulars and walk-ins in roughly equal measure. High Tide is open daily from 8 AM to 5 PM\, and the music slot lines up neatly with the lunch rush. \nSpecific artists are not always announced in advance. High Tide drops weekend lineup updates on their Instagram (@hightidemorrobay) ahead of the show\, so check there for who’s playing this Saturday. \nFor more free shows\, weekend lunch plans\, and live music around the bay\, see the event calendar.

SUMMARY:Love of Nature Exhibit at Art Center Morro Bay
DESCRIPTION:Love of Nature at Art Center Morro Bay\nArt Center Morro Bay hangs its fall exhibit\, Love of Nature\, from September 17 through November 2 at 835 Main St\, the downtown gallery with the Rock mural on its wall. The subject is the one every local lives inside and every visitor drives Highway 1 to find: the ocean\, the bay\, the marshes\, the mountains\, and the plants and wildlife of the Central Coast\, seen through the individual styles of the region’s artists. \nExpect familiar scenes rendered with personal feeling\, alongside imaginative and abstract takes that treat the coastline as a starting point rather than a postcard. The range is the point. One wall might hold the estuary at low tide in careful detail while the next abstracts the same water into color and motion\, and the show rewards moving slowly enough to notice how differently each artist answers the same landscape. In a fast-moving stretch of the year\, a room full of work about tidelines\, back-bay light\, and coastal wildlife is a standing invitation to slow down. \nAn opening reception runs Sunday\, September 21\, from 2 to 4 PM\, the best chance to meet the artists whose names hang beside the work. The Art Center has anchored this corner of Main Street since the Morro Bay Art Association formed in 1951\, still volunteer-run and still mounting a full slate of exhibits each year\, and a stop here pairs naturally with the galleries and shops within a couple of blocks. \nAutumn fills in fast around town; the rest of the season’s openings\, music\, and outings are gathered on the event calendar. \nImage: Ken Christensen

SUMMARY:🍿 Witch-Crafternoon: Practical Magic 2 at the Bay Theatre
DESCRIPTION:The Morro Bay Yarn Shop and Estero Bay Art & Craft host a lights-up\, craft-along matinee of Practical Magic 2.\nThe house lights stay up just enough to see your work\, so you can make real progress on a project while the Owens witches take theirs on. The regular 4:00 and 7:00 PM showings run the same day for anyone who prefers the lights down. \n \nWhere: Bay Theatre\, 464 Morro Bay Blvd\, Morro Bay\nWhen: Saturday\, September 19\, 2026; doors 12:30 PM\, film 1:00 PM\nWho: The Morro Bay Yarn Shop and Estero Bay Art & Craft\nCost: $10 \nMore Information \nOne of a full slate of September specials at the theatre and around town; the Morro Bay events calendar holds the rest.

SUMMARY:Nearby: 🎶 Beachside Live at Schooners
DESCRIPTION:Free live music every weekend on the oceanfront patio at Schooners\nIn Cayucos\, up the coast. Schooners runs its Beachside Live concert series on the oceanfront patio above Cayucos Beach every Saturday and Sunday through the summer and into fall\, a few steps from the pier with the sand and the water right there. Most weekend days bring two different acts\, an afternoon set from 1 to 4 PM and an evening set from 5 to 8\, so the music runs straight through the best hours of the day. It is free\, all ages are welcome on the patio\, and the full bar and menu run throughout. \nThe 2026 season rotates a deep roster of Central Coast bands with touring guests dropping in\, so the lineup changes every weekend across genres from roots and Americana to funk\, reggae\, and beach rock. Because the acts change constantly\, the best way to see who is playing on a given day is to check Schooners directly\, but the through-line is dependable: show up on a weekend afternoon or evening and there will be a band on the patio and the ocean behind them. \nCayucos sits about ten minutes up Highway 1 from Morro Bay\, an easy drive for a weekend afternoon or a sunset set by the water. Front-row patio seating goes to whoever claims it\, so arriving a little early is the move when the weather is good and the beach crowd is out. \nFor the full weekend lineup and more Nearby Happenings up and down the coast\, see what is coming up on the event calendar.

SUMMARY:🎶 Live Music Saturdays at Top Dog Café
DESCRIPTION:Free live music every Saturday afternoon in the Top Dog Coffee Bar garden\nOn Main Street in Morro Bay. Top Dog Coffee Bar runs free live music in its back garden every Saturday afternoon through the end of summer\, from 2 to 4 PM. The weekly series brings a rotating lineup of local musicians to the garden space behind the coffee bar\, an easygoing\, no-cover way to spend a Saturday afternoon downtown with a coffee in hand and live music in the air. \nThe timing pairs naturally with the Main Street farmers market\, which runs its certified-market stretch on Main between 2:30 and 5:30 PM. The two turn a Saturday into a full downtown afternoon: browse the produce stands and vendors\, then settle into the Top Dog garden for the music\, or work it the other direction. It’s the kind of walkable\, unhurried afternoon the heart of Main Street does well\, and a reliable free option all summer long. \nTop Dog’s back garden is a tucked-away patio behind the coffee bar\, a relaxed spot for an acoustic set away from the Main Street sidewalk. The full coffee menu runs through the afternoon\, so espresso drinks and the rest of the lineup are on hand while the music plays. Family-friendly and dog-friendly\, fitting for a place named Top Dog. The performing lineup changes week to week\, so each Saturday is its own set. \nStop in on any Saturday through the season for a free afternoon of music on Main Street. For more live music and weekend happenings around the bay\, see what’s coming up on the event calendar.

SUMMARY:Rock the Waterfront
DESCRIPTION:The Maritime Museum’s fall fundraiser gathers the waterfront community at the Yacht Club\nOn the Morro Bay Embarcadero. Rock the Waterfront is the Morro Bay Maritime Museum’s annual fall fundraiser\, returning to the Morro Bay Yacht Club on Saturday\, September 19 from 5:30 to 8 PM. The evening pulls together museum supporters\, community members\, local businesses\, and friends of the working waterfront for a relaxed gathering overlooking the bay\, the kind of night where the harbor itself is the backdrop and the conversation runs to boats. \nThe format is easy and social: heavy hors d’oeuvres\, no-host cocktails\, music\, and a silent auction stocked with local experiences\, gifts\, and coastal-themed packages. The auction leans into what the Central Coast does well\, food and wine\, lodging\, tours\, recreation\, and one-off local experiences\, so the bidding tends to be as much fun as the browsing. September on the Embarcadero is a good bet for weather\, too\, right in the stretch that locals know as the warmest\, clearest part of the coastal year. \nProceeds support the Maritime Museum’s mission of keeping maritime history\, science\, and technology accessible\, funding exhibits\, preservation work\, public programs\, and family-friendly educational activities. That work is visible right down the Embarcadero at the museum’s home at 1210 Embarcadero\, where the collection includes the tugboat Alma\, the Avalon\, the Spindrift\, and a historic rescue boat\, all free to visit seven days a week. \nTickets are available through the museum’s site. Local businesses and individuals interested in event sponsorships or silent auction donations can reach the museum at info@morrobaymaritime.org. For more harbor happenings\, fundraisers\, and community events around the bay this fall\, see what is coming up on the event calendar.

SUMMARY:🎶 Live Music: The Petty Rocks\, Tom Petty Tribute at The Siren
DESCRIPTION:The Petty Rocks run the Tom Petty songbook at The Siren\nOn Main Street in Morro Bay. The Petty Rocks bring their Tom Petty tribute to The Siren on Saturday\, September 19 at 8 PM\, running the Heartbreakers catalog the way it deserves: American Girl\, Refugee\, Free Fallin’\, and the deeper cuts that reward a room full of people who know the records front to back. Tickets run $20 to $25 at thesirenmorrobay.com. \nPetty’s songbook is close to ideal tribute material\, three decades of radio staples built on jangling guitars and choruses everyone can carry\, and a good tribute act knows the assignment is the feel as much as the notes. Tribute Saturdays at the Siren reliably draw the singalong crowd\, which makes the small room feel twice its size by the second set. Expect the whole arc\, from the Byrds-y early jangle through the Wildflowers years. \nThe Siren is the Main Street room that carries most of Morro Bay’s live music\, small\, dark\, and close to the stage\, with the kitchen and full bar running through the night. Shows are 21 and over per the venue’s evening policy\, and seating is first come\, so arriving ahead of the start gets a table. \nFor more tribute nights and live music around the bay this fall\, see what is coming up on the event calendar. \n

DESCRIPTION:The Estero Bay’s own carving club takes its 46th annual show to Cambria\nIn Cambria\, up Highway 1. The Central Coast Woodcarvers\, the carving club whose membership draws from right here in the Estero Bay area\, hold their 46th Annual Woodcarving Show on Saturday\, September 19 from 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday\, September 20 from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Cambria Veterans’ Hall\, 1000 Main Street. Admission is a $2 donation with kids 12 and under free\, and for many Morro Bay and Los Osos carvers in the club\, this weekend is the year’s showcase. \nForty-six years of accumulated craft fills the hall: carvings in every style and subject alongside woodburning\, woodturning\, and basketry\, with ongoing demonstrations both days so visitors can watch blades and blanks become finished work in real time. The timed carving contests supply the drama\, Saturday’s open to all levels\, Sunday’s restricted to past blue-ribbon winners\, carving’s version of a masters final. Drawing tickets offer chances at member-donated carvings (pick the piece you want and stack your tickets on it)\, and the People’s Choice display puts prize-awarding power in visitors’ hands. \nThe drive from Morro Bay runs about 25 minutes up Highway 1\, one of the prettiest errands on the coast\, and the show pairs naturally with a Cambria afternoon: the hall sits at the corner of Main and Cambria Drive\, an easy walk from the East Village. Questions go to show chair Melody Mullis at (805) 748-4143 or mamullis@ix.netcom.com. \nFor more craft shows and Nearby Happenings up and down the coast\, see what is coming up on the event calendar.

SUMMARY:🎶 Live Music: David Talmadge at Taco Temple
DESCRIPTION:David Talmadge on Taco Temple’s Sunday patio\nDavid Talmadge plays Sunday-afternoon sets on Taco Temple’s outdoor patio across the summer and into fall\, one of the rotating names on the Sunday lineup. \nTaco Temple is the California-Mexican fusion restaurant at 2680 Main that started in Cayucos and moved up the coast. The salsa bar is its own argument. The agave-wine margaritas convert skeptics. Grandma’s carrot cake sells out\, so order it first. \nPatio is dog-friendly\, the show is free\, the kitchen runs the full menu through the set.

SUMMARY:🍿 Monday Special: A River Runs Through It at the Bay Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Robert Redford’s A River Runs Through It gets a single showing at the Bay Theatre in downtown Morro Bay.\nRedford’s 1992 adaptation of Norman Maclean’s autobiographical novella follows the Maclean brothers\, Brad Pitt and Craig Sheffer\, coming of age in early twentieth-century Montana under a minister father who treats fly fishing as something close to scripture.
