SUMMARY:🎶 Live Music Saturdays at High Tide Deli
DESCRIPTION:Free Saturday afternoons on the High Tide Deli patio\nHigh Tide Deli runs free live music on the patio every Saturday from noon to 2 PM\, the kind of low-key weekly slot that turns a sandwich-shop lunch into something you actually plan around. The lineup rotates\, the show is short and casual\, and the menu does the rest. No cover\, no reservations needed\, no big production. Just music and lunch on the patio at 500 Morro Bay Boulevard. \nHigh Tide is a Morro Bay favorite that sits at the downtown end of the Boulevard\, an indoor/outdoor cafe known for build-your-own sandwiches\, acai bowls\, smoothies\, and a serious coffee menu. The Turkey Bliss is a regular contender\, the avocado toast has a following\, and the build-your-own runs deep with options like Dutch Crunch rolls\, pesto mayo\, and the standard Morro Bay add-ons (bacon\, avocado\, jalapeno cheddar bread). The retail section of the cafe stocks local goods\, which makes the post-lunch browse part of the experience. \nThe patio is dog-friendly and family-friendly\, with shade across the seating area on most afternoons and the kind of casual stretch that lets the music play without becoming the whole event. The Saturday slot draws regulars and walk-ins in roughly equal measure. High Tide is open daily from 8 AM to 5 PM\, and the music slot lines up neatly with the lunch rush. \nSpecific artists are not always announced in advance. High Tide drops weekend lineup updates on their Instagram (@hightidemorrobay) ahead of the show\, so check there for who’s playing this Saturday. \nFor more free shows\, weekend lunch plans\, and live music around the bay\, see the event calendar.

SUMMARY:Call of the Wild Exhibit at Art Center Morro Bay
DESCRIPTION:Call of the Wild opens Thursday\, June 25\, at Art Center Morro Bay and stays up through August 3.\nThe prompt for the show is wildlife in the broadest sense\, which on the Central Coast means more than the easy answers. Sea otters and peregrine falcons get attention\, but so do shorebirds\, marine mammals\, the heron rookery at Morro Bay State Park\, and the working ecology of the estuary. Member artists submit pieces in any medium that responds to the call. \nThe exhibit fills the main gallery at 835 Main Street\, the Morro Bay Art Association’s home since 1951. Open daily noon to four\, free admission. The run stretches about six weeks\, with pieces rotating in and out as artists drop new work\, so it rewards a return visit or two. \nOpening reception details are still being confirmed. The Art Center typically holds a public Sunday afternoon reception in the first week or two of a new exhibit\, with light food\, wine\, and the chance to meet some of the artists. Call (805) 772-2504 for the latest\, or watch the Art Center’s social channels. \nThe exhibit pairs naturally with a walk through the Morro Bay State Park heron rookery\, a paddle around the back bay to look for sea otters\, or a docent walk through Sweet Springs Nature Preserve in Los Osos. Wildlife on the page\, wildlife on the water\, all in one afternoon. \nPlan your visit at hellomorrobay.com/events/. \n  \nPhoto Credit: https://www.artcentermorrobay.org/exhibits#OVzdql

SUMMARY:🎶 Live Music Saturdays at Top Dog Café
DESCRIPTION:Free live music every Saturday afternoon in the Top Dog Coffee Bar garden\nOn Main Street in Morro Bay. Top Dog Coffee Bar runs free live music in its back garden every Saturday afternoon through the end of summer\, from 2 to 4 PM. The weekly series brings a rotating lineup of local musicians to the garden space behind the coffee bar\, an easygoing\, no-cover way to spend a Saturday afternoon downtown with a coffee in hand and live music in the air. \nThe timing pairs naturally with the Main Street farmers market\, which runs its certified-market stretch on Main between 2:30 and 5:30 PM. The two turn a Saturday into a full downtown afternoon: browse the produce stands and vendors\, then settle into the Top Dog garden for the music\, or work it the other direction. It’s the kind of walkable\, unhurried afternoon the heart of Main Street does well\, and a reliable free option all summer long. \nTop Dog’s back garden is a tucked-away patio behind the coffee bar\, a relaxed spot for an acoustic set away from the Main Street sidewalk. The full coffee menu runs through the afternoon\, so espresso drinks and the rest of the lineup are on hand while the music plays. Family-friendly and dog-friendly\, fitting for a place named Top Dog. The performing lineup changes week to week\, so each Saturday is its own set. \nStop in on any Saturday through the season for a free afternoon of music on Main Street. For more live music and weekend happenings around the bay\, see what’s coming up on the event calendar.

SUMMARY:🎶 Live Music: Bridges Band at The Siren
DESCRIPTION:Bridges Band plays a free Saturday afternoon at The Siren\nOn Main Street in Morro Bay. Bridges Band plays a free afternoon show at The Siren on Saturday\, July 25 at 2 PM\, the no-cover daytime slot that pulls walk-ins off Main Street before the dinner hour. The Siren’s free afternoon sets are one of the easy pleasures of a downtown Saturday: wander in\, the band is on\, and nothing stands between you and the music. \nAfternoon shows give the Main Street room a looser\, sunnier feel than the evening bills\, and a 2 PM start folds neatly into a Saturday already built around the farmers market\, the Embarcadero\, or a walk out to the Rock. Bring the whole crew; the daytime slot runs all-comers-welcome in spirit even as the room keeps its usual bar-show energy. \nThe kitchen and full bar run through the afternoon\, so lunch and the set can be the same stop. Free shows still fill the room\, and seating is first come\, so arriving near the start is the move if you want a table. Note the room turns over twice this Saturday: the evening brings a ticketed funk double bill\, so the afternoon set is the free half of a two-show day. \nFor more free shows and live music around the bay this summer\, see what is happening on the event calendar.

SUMMARY:Nearby: 🎶 Live Music: ULTRA at Sea Pines
DESCRIPTION:ULTRA brings 80s and 90s dance covers to Sea Pines\nIn Los Osos. ULTRA plays the free Barefoot Concert on the Green at Sea Pines\, running 80s and 90s dance covers across the afternoon on the putting green. \nThe 2 PM to 8 PM show runs an opening set\, the headliner across the middle of the day\, and an indoor Clubhouse Grill set to close. \nNo cover\, full grill and bar\, bring a chair for the grass. (This is the Sea Pines date for ULTRA\, distinct from the band’s June 27 Siren show on the Morro Bay side.) For more weekend ideas and live music\, take a look at the event calendar.

SUMMARY:Morro Bay Saturday Main Street Farmers Market
DESCRIPTION:The Saturday market is the downtown one.\nTwo blocks of Main Street at Morro Bay Boulevard fill with a certified California farmers market every Saturday afternoon\, year-round\, rain or shine. Alongside the produce you’ll find Top Dog coffee\, homemade tamales\, kettle corn\, baked goods\, and local artisan crafts\, which makes it as much a weekend gathering as a grocery run. \nIf you want farm-fresh produce\, locally made goods\, and a downtown stroll\, this is the one. \nFor the rest of the week’s markets\, music\, and weekend happenings\, take a look at the event calendar.

SUMMARY:🎶 Live Music: Burgundy & Blue at The Savory Palette
DESCRIPTION:Songwriter duo Burgundy and Blue play an Embarcadero evening at The Savory Palette\nOn the Morro Bay Embarcadero. Burgundy and Blue\, the duo project of singer-songwriters Cassi Nicholls and Patrick Joseph\, play The Savory Palette on Saturday\, July 25 from 6 to 8 PM. There is no cover\, with donations to the musicians appreciated\, and the venue is billing it as a dinner-and-a-show evening on the waterfront\, the kind of night where the music and the meal share equal billing. \nThe pairing has real history behind it. Nicholls is an indie singer-songwriter with Central Coast ties who writes straight from lived experience\, and Joseph\, a songwriter with his own catalog\, produced her Handsome Devil EP\, so the two arrive as longtime collaborators rather than a thrown-together bill. An evening set of two songwriters trading songs rewards a room that actually listens\, and a waterfront wine-and-dinner spot at sunset is exactly that room. \nThe Savory Palette sits at 601 Embarcadero in the heart of the waterfront\, and a 6 PM start catches the best of the evening: the harbor settling down\, the light going gold on the Rock\, and dinner service running through both sets. Arriving early for a table is the move\, since the room is intimate and the duo has been telling followers to come grab a seat ahead of time. \nNo cover at the door\, donations appreciated\, and a full evening on the Embarcadero around it. For more live music and waterfront evenings around the bay\, see what is on the event calendar.

SUMMARY:The Butler Did It at By The Sea Productions
DESCRIPTION:A comedy whodunit takes the stage at By The Sea Productions\nIn Morro Bay. By The Sea Productions stages The Butler Did It across three weekends this summer\, July 24 through August 9\, at the company’s Shasta Avenue theater. The community theater company\, a fixture of the Morro Bay arts scene\, brings the classic comedy whodunit to its intimate stage for a nine-performance run\, the kind of locally produced live theater that gives a working-coast town its own footlights. \nBUY TICKETS HERE \nThe Butler Did It is a comedy that plays with every murder-mystery convention you know\, the kind of show where the title is the joke and the fun is watching it unfold anyway. By The Sea’s productions lean on local actors and a close-quarters house where you are near enough to the stage to catch every reaction\, which suits a farce built on timing and the slow reveal. It is an easy\, genuinely fun night out that does not require a drive inland. \nThe run covers three Friday-Saturday-Sunday weekends. Evening performances are at 7 PM on Fridays and Saturdays (July 24\, 25\, 31\, August 1\, 7\, 8)\, and Sunday matinees are at 3 PM (July 26\, August 2\, 9). Tickets are $30. By The Sea is a small house and community theater runs draw a loyal local crowd\, so booking ahead for the date you want is the smart move. \nFor more live theater\, arts\, and community events around the bay this summer\, see what’s on the event calendar.

SUMMARY:🎶 Live Music: Funk Junket and Loving Mosh at The Siren
DESCRIPTION:Funk Junket and Loving Mosh stack a Saturday night funk double bill at The Siren\nOn Main Street in Morro Bay. Funk Junket and Loving Mosh share a Saturday night bill at The Siren on July 25 at 7:30 PM\, two funk-forward local acts for a door price that barely covers a cocktail\, tickets run $7 to $10 at thesirenmorrobay.com. The evening set follows the free Bridges Band afternoon show\, making July 25 a full two-show day on Main Street. \nA funk double bill is built for this room. The Siren runs small\, dark\, and loud\, with the crowd close enough to the stage that the low end lands in your chest\, and back-to-back funk acts keep the dance floor moving without a lull between sets. Funk Junket is a familiar name on the Central Coast circuit\, a regular at Sea Pines’ weekend series\, and pairing them with Loving Mosh gives the night two different takes on the groove. \nThe Siren is the Main Street room that carries most of Morro Bay’s live music\, small\, dark\, and close to the stage\, with the kitchen and full bar running through the night. The show is 21 and over per the venue’s evening policy. Doors and dinner open ahead of the music\, and arriving early gets you a stool rather than standing room once the first set starts. \nFor more live music and cheap-ticket nights around the bay this summer\, see what is coming up on the event calendar.

Salsa bar is a destination of its own. The agave-wine margaritas convert skeptics. Grandma’s carrot cake sells out\, ask early. \nThe patio is dog-friendly\, the show is free\, and a full menu is available throughout the set. SUMMARY:Open Mic at Sammy J's
DESCRIPTION:Take the stage at Sammy J’s Sunday afternoon open mic\nIn downtown Morro Bay. Sammy J’s Irish American Pub hosts an open mic\, an afternoon slot for musicians\, singers\, and anyone with something to share in front of a friendly downtown crowd. Open mics are always a bit of a grab bag\, and that is the appeal: you might catch a polished singer-songwriter\, a first-timer working up the nerve\, or a surprise standout\, all in the same afternoon. Performers and listeners are equally welcome. \nSammy J’s is the Irish American pub on Morro Bay Boulevard\, cold pints and a full kitchen in an easygoing room that suits a laid-back afternoon of live performance. A Sunday-afternoon start makes this a mellow way to cap the weekend\, whether you are signing up to play or just settling in with a pint to watch the lineup unfold. \nIf you want to perform\, come early to sign up and get your spot. For more open mics\, live music\, and weekend happenings around the bay\, see what is coming up on the event calendar.

SUMMARY:Monday Special: The Magnificent Seven at the Bay Theatre
DESCRIPTION:The Magnificent Seven rides onto the Bay Theatre screen for Monday Specials\nIn downtown Morro Bay. The Bay Theatre’s Monday Specials series brings back The Magnificent Seven on Monday\, July 27\, one showing only\, doors at 5:00 PM and the film at 5:30. Admission is $10 at the theatre. John Sturges’ 1960 western\, the great American update of Seven Samurai\, sends seven hired gunfighters to liberate a Mexican village from bandits\, with a cast for the ages: Yul Brynner\, Steve McQueen\, Charles Bronson\, and James Coburn among them. Rated PG\, 2 hours 8 minutes. \nMonday Specials are the Bay Theatre’s signature move\, the night the single screen goes dark on new releases and runs a classic instead\, and a 1960 widescreen western is exactly the kind of film the format exists for. Elmer Bernstein’s score alone earns the theatre trip. \nThe Bay Theatre is Morro Bay’s single-screen downtown movie house at 464 Morro Bay Blvd\, a block off the Embarcadero\, where a night at the movies still comes with a real marquee and walkable dinner options on either side of the show. The theatre is closed Thursdays. A 5:30 start makes the whole evening easy: film first\, dinner after\, home at a reasonable hour. \nFor the rest of the Monday Specials lineup and everything else downtown\, see what is coming up on the event calendar.

SUMMARY:Nearby: 🎶 Kam's Jams at Schooners
DESCRIPTION:Kam Alton builds a band in front of the audience at Kam’s Jams\nIn Cayucos\, up the coast. Kam’s Jams takes over Schooners the last Tuesday of every month from 7 to 9 PM\, or later when the room demands it\, with Kam Alton bringing a rotating cast of guest musicians for fully improvised sets built in front of the audience. Nothing is rehearsed\, nothing repeats\, and the whole point is watching skilled players find the song in real time. \nImprovised nights are a genuine rarity on the coast’s music calendar\, and this one has become a Schooners signature. Alton is a fixture of the Cayucos scene\, also guest-hosting the venue’s first-Wednesday open mics\, and the trust between him and his revolving guests is what lets the night stay loose without falling apart. Come with no expectations; that is the format working as intended. The Music Room gives the night a proper stage and listening space rather than a corner of the bar\, which is part of why the improvisation holds an audience. \nSchooners sits a few steps from the Cayucos Pier with the full bar and menu running through the night\, about ten minutes up Highway 1 from Morro Bay. Free\, no cover\, last Tuesday of the month. \nFor more one-of-a-kind music nights up and down the coast\, see what is coming up on the event calendar.

SUMMARY:🎶 Live Music: Cigar Box Ray at Tognazzini's Dockside
DESCRIPTION:Cigar Box Ray holds Wednesday afternoons on the Tognazzini’s Dockside Too patio through the end of the year.\nThe standing Wednesday slot on the working waterfront: Cigar Box Ray plays from 3:00 PM to closing on the all-outdoor fish market patio by the North T-pier\, with the boats coming and going right off the deck\, no cover\, and the counter serving through the whole set. Late lunch\, early dinner\, or one unhurried drink with the harbor in view; the Wednesday habit takes care of itself. \nThe performer is worth knowing. Cigar Box Ray is Ray Riordan\, a Central Coast fixture who plays instruments he built himself\, cigar box guitars and ukuleles crafted by hand\, working from a setlist of more than 700 songs spanning the 1960s to today. Requests are a sport here; with a catalog that deep\, he’ll probably know it. \nWhere: Tognazzini’s Dockside Too\, 1235 Embarcadero\, Morro Bay\nWhen: Wednesdays\, 3:00 PM to close (7:00 PM through October\, 6:00 PM from November)\nCost: Free\, no cover\nGood to know: All seating is outdoors and first come; the patio is dog-friendly \nMore Information \nA 700-song Wednesday is a strong midweek anchor; what the rest of the week hangs on it is over on the Morro Bay events calendar.

SUMMARY:Trivia Night at The Nauti Anchor
DESCRIPTION:Trivia Night runs every Wednesday at The Nauti Anchor in North Morro Bay.\nA free weekly showdown at the Main Street bar and grill\, 6:30 to 7:30 PM: bring a team name or just join in when you get there\, since the format welcomes solo players and drop-ins as readily as the crews who show up with a strategy. The hour-long format keeps it tight\, a quick and competitive weeknight outing rather than a whole evening’s commitment\, and the kitchen and taps run through the game so the table stays fed. It is a restaurant and coffee bar rather than a bar\, so all ages can play. The venue’s own advice is worth taking: come early to get a seat\, and bring your brain. \nWhere: The Nauti Anchor\, 2940 Main St\, Morro Bay\nWhen: Every Wednesday\, 6:30 to 7:30 PM\nCost: Free\nGood to know: All ages; Karaoke takes the Tuesday slot\, 5:00 to 7:00 PM \nMore Information \nA Wednesday trivia habit is a fine spine for the week; the rest of it hangs on the Morro Bay events calendar.

SUMMARY:Nearby: 🎶 Open Mic Night at Schooners
DESCRIPTION:Schooners opens the Music Room mic every Wednesday night\nIn Cayucos\, up the coast. Schooners runs Open Mic Night every Wednesday at 7 PM in its Music Room\, with signups starting at 6\, hosted by local favorite Sam Fischer\, and the first Wednesday of each month handed to Kam Alton as guest host. Music and poetry both take the stage\, from Cayucos regulars to whoever happens to be passing through on Highway 1\, and the jams have a reputation for running late when the room is right. \nA standing open mic at a beachfront venue draws a different crowd than a bar-back-room version: the Music Room gives performers a real stage\, the restaurant keeps the audience fed\, and the mix of locals and travelers means no two Wednesdays sound alike. SUMMARY:Jukebox Bingo at Sammy J's
DESCRIPTION:Jukebox Bingo turns Wednesday nights into a singalong at Sammy J’s\nIn downtown Morro Bay. Sammy J’s runs Jukebox Bingo every Wednesday at 7:30 PM\, the Irish American pub’s signature midweek mashup where the bingo card is filled with songs instead of numbers. Hosted by Leslie\, the game plays exactly how it sounds: the music plays\, you mark the song on your card when you recognize it\, and the singing along takes care of itself\, “sing\, mark\, win\,” as the house puts it. The pub calls the game Biongó\, and the shamrock-green branding tells you how seriously they take the fun. \nThe formula has made Wednesday one of the pub’s best nights: great food and cold drinks from the full menu\, a room that gets louder and happier as the rounds roll\, and awesome prizes for the winners. Because the game runs on recognizing songs rather than trivia knowledge\, every table competes on even footing\, from the regulars to whoever wandered in off Morro Bay Boulevard\, and the singalong factor means even a losing card is a good time. \nSammy J’s at 400 Morro Bay Blvd has quickly stacked its weekly calendar into downtown’s most reliable run of free weeknight entertainment\, with bingo on Wednesdays alongside its trivia\, karaoke\, and open mic nights. Free to play\, no reservations needed\, and arriving for dinner ahead of the 7:30 start claims the good tables before the cards go out. \nFor karaoke\, trivia\, and the rest of the week’s lineup around the bay\, see what is happening on the event calendar.
