SUMMARY:Nearby: Kindness\, An Art Show at Casa Ramos Art Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Casa Ramos Art Gallery presents Kindness\nIn Los Osos\, across the back bay. Casa Ramos Art Gallery presents Kindness\, a one-day art show on Sunday\, August 2 from 1 to 5 PM at 1034 Los Osos Valley Road. The single-afternoon format makes it more happening than exhibit: four hours to see the work\, meet the artists\, and take in a themed show built around the most disarming prompt a gallery can hang. \nOne-day shows carry a certain urgency that month-long runs do not\, and they tend to draw the artists themselves into the room\, which turns viewing into conversation. A theme like Kindness invites range\, portraiture\, abstraction\, community pieces\, and the intimate scale of a Los Osos gallery suits work meant to be discussed rather than merely observed. \nThe gallery sits on Los Osos Valley Road\, about 15 minutes around the bay from Morro Bay\, and the Sunday-afternoon window pairs easily with a back-bay loop: the show\, a walk at Sweet Springs or the Elfin Forest\, and dinner back on the Morro Bay side. Admission details were not posted; gallery shows of this kind are typically free\, but check ahead. The back-bay art scene runs on rooms exactly like this one\, and showing up is how it keeps running. \nCasa Ramos Art Gallery has partnered with the Estero Bay Kindness Coalition for this special event. Forty percent of all gallery sales during the show will benefit the Coalition’s efforts to provide food assistance to families and individuals in Morro Bay and Los Osos. \nFor more art shows and Nearby Happenings around the estuary\, see what is on the event calendar.
