That makes it a genuine skills-building morning for birders ready to move past pointing and toward recording\, with scopes on the flats and the estuary’s late-summer shorebird traffic providing plenty to log. \nRegistration is required through Morro Coast Audubon and the dozen spots go quickly. An 8 AM start means marine-layer conditions on the water\, so layers and a warm hand around the coffee are standard kit. The marina parking area serves the boardwalk directly.
