SUMMARY:Love of Nature Exhibit at Art Center Morro Bay
DESCRIPTION:Love of Nature at Art Center Morro Bay\nArt Center Morro Bay hangs its fall exhibit\, Love of Nature\, from September 17 through November 2 at 835 Main St\, the downtown gallery with the Rock mural on its wall. The subject is the one every local lives inside and every visitor drives Highway 1 to find: the ocean\, the bay\, the marshes\, the mountains\, and the plants and wildlife of the Central Coast\, seen through the individual styles of the region’s artists. \nExpect familiar scenes rendered with personal feeling\, alongside imaginative and abstract takes that treat the coastline as a starting point rather than a postcard. The range is the point. One wall might hold the estuary at low tide in careful detail while the next abstracts the same water into color and motion\, and the show rewards moving slowly enough to notice how differently each artist answers the same landscape. In a fast-moving stretch of the year\, a room full of work about tidelines\, back-bay light\, and coastal wildlife is a standing invitation to slow down. \nAn opening reception runs Sunday\, September 21\, from 2 to 4 PM\, the best chance to meet the artists whose names hang beside the work. The Art Center has anchored this corner of Main Street since the Morro Bay Art Association formed in 1951\, still volunteer-run and still mounting a full slate of exhibits each year\, and a stop here pairs naturally with the galleries and shops within a couple of blocks. \nAutumn fills in fast around town; the rest of the season’s openings\, music\, and outings are gathered on the event calendar. \nImage: Ken Christensen

SUMMARY:🍿 Weekend Special: The Witches at the Bay Theatre
DESCRIPTION:The Bay Theatre screens Nicolas Roeg’s The Witches as a one-showing Halloween matinee.\nRoald Dahl’s kid-friendly spook show gets the single screen for one Halloween afternoon: Anjelica Huston and her massive coven convene at a seaside hotel\, and a small boy has to avoid being seen\, heard\, or turned into a mouse by her child-eating mavens. Nicolas Roeg\, better known for grown-up art films\, made something families can enjoy and recoil from in equal measure\, and a 1:00 PM showtime on Halloween itself leaves the whole evening for trick-or-treating. Rated PG\, 1 hour 31 minutes\, $10\, and the theatre’s Weekend Special before The Social Reckoning takes the evening. \n \nWhere: Bay Theatre\, 464 Morro Bay Blvd\, Morro Bay\nWhen: Saturday\, October 31\, 2026; doors 12:30 PM\, film 1:00 PM\, one showing only\nWho: Bay Theatre Weekend Specials\nCost: $10\nGood to know: Costumes welcome; The Social Reckoning plays the regular 4:15 and 7:00 PM slots the same day \nMore Information \nA matinee of witches\, then a night of them on the street; Halloween in Morro Bay is mapped on the Morro Bay events calendar.

SUMMARY:🎨 Paint Nite: November to Remember at La Katrina
DESCRIPTION:Paint Nite takes over La Katrina with the November to Remember autumn scene\nOn the Morro Bay Embarcadero. Paint Nite returns to La Katrina on Thursday\, November 12 at 5:30 PM\, with this month’s guided painting\, the November to Remember autumn scene. The November session leans into the season with a fall-toned canvas\, a warm project for the month the coast turns quiet. Tickets are $45 through paintnite.com\, which covers all supplies\, canvas\, paint\, brushes\, and step-by-step instruction\, no experience needed. \nThe night is hosted by The Canvas Club\, the top-rated local Paint Nite team led by artist Michelle Ducasse\, who walks the room through the painting one step at a time while the margaritas and the kitchen at La Katrina handle the sip half of the equation. Paint Nite’s guided format means the finished canvas goes home with you the same night\, gift-ready if you are painting ahead of the holidays. \nLa Katrina sits at 500 Embarcadero in the heart of the waterfront\, and the vibrant cantina room makes a natural paint-night setting. The event is 21 and over per Paint Nite’s venue format\, and the monthly series has become a standing date-night and friends-night fixture\, with each month bringing a different painting\, so no two sessions repeat. \nFor more art nights and things to do around the bay\, see what is coming up on the event calendar.
